Holy shit. This storm going on now is biblical. The thunder was so loud and the lightening so bright. The rain fell so fast and so much the streets flooded in a matter of seconds. It was hailing too. One piece that fell on my balcony was an inch wide.
I just kept thinking “I get it! You hate so many aspects of your time, Voltaire! I do too! Get to the resolution”
I had to use Sparknotes because I just wanted to know how the story ended (I was 3/4 of the way through before I realized that I just cannot care about the characters, the writing, or the journey) and I’m not sorry for it. How brave of Candide to marry such an old ugly woman who aged got uglier by the day.
I just don’t think Voltaire’s style of satire is something I enjoy.
This one is amazing for discovering new bands. It’s not really that hard to figure out. You just put in a band you like, and then it gives you a music map. The map shows the band you put in, and a bunch of other bands around it. The closer the band is to the one you put in, the more likely you’ll like them.
Once you’ve found a band through the first site, use this one. You put in a band and it gives you pretty much every song they’ve ever written. I have no idea how it works. Probably some evil satan magic or something. I don’t care, though. You get to listen to any song ever written. For free. You use this site to check out bands you’ve learned about from the first site. Hooray!
